The tension is over, the rallies
are over, the elaboration of the gargantuan campaign promises are over, whether
realistic or not, it is for the average electorate to critically assess.
In a definite chronology, the
National peace council, stakeholders, churches and even concern individuals
within the confinement of their places of abode have said a word of prayer for
a peaceful poll come December the 7th, 2012.
I no longer have the freedom to even remote control to a television station of my choice. My unending attempts to satisfy my appetite for anything entertaining and educating have proved futile. My screen has been flooded with political campaigns all with the hope to sale home their missions for the nation, Ghana. My mind has become a battlefield, but the end result has been confusion.
In all these activities, the arts industry has not been sidelined at all. No matter your religious background you would definitely have your share of the campaign songs to send home. For the azonto dancers, NDC’S edey bee keke would definitely match whatever angle you would like to twist your waist to. Berima sydenys song for the Npp can either not be overlooked. For the devout Christian, I recommend Evangelist Diana Asamoah’s “ma fre wo” or the akukofunu man, Great Ampong’s “victory 2012” all for the Npp respectively.
Whatever the attempt, I sense but one thing, an attempt to win the favour of the populace and ultimately the alpha and omega of every human activity, God. Whatever feedback that the orchestrators of all these activities might be expecting would have been achieved through the human output at their various political campaigns. All these response is definitely from the human angle, but God has suspended his.
For whatever reason, he God still remains the only fellow to tell us. But one thing I know for sure is that he would finally respond on December 7th.
God definitely would not be bias with his response. Therefore, the nation must remain calm and accept the outcome. Any attempt by any political party to run this nation into disruption would definitely be an attempt to misconstrue the wisdom of God and the people.
For this not to be said of us, let after all things come together as a nation and rally behind whoever finally gets the nod. This I believe is the path to eliciting the peace the nation has since yearned for.
God bless Ghana and make our
nation great and strong.
