Hello Forks!
I bring you greetings from the seat of the almighty
this morning, by the way, how are we faring just a day after the some how hectic
semester? The replies may differ one way or the other but, all the same, since
we are all alive, what then is more precious than life? Nothing I guess.
The unexamined life as rightly putted by one Chinese
philosopher, Socrates, is not worth living.
From the ensuing backdrop, let's do a brief postmortem of the immediate past semester.
But first of all, no taking of offence, because i am not nurturing any agenda
for doing this but just to elicit response that some of us could not have had the opportunity know for being
the reason(s) for the failure of those promise(s).
STILL BORN PROMISE NUMBER ONE: Ralph Dinko, please
what happened to the promise of the publication of the communicator this
semester? Money, apathy on the side of students by not writing the needed
articles, news items, poems or what? Or I guess you were so much immersed in
your ambition of becoming SRC financial secretary. Politics for short
STILL BORN PROMISE NUMBER TWO: Hi Hon immediate past
SRC president, H.E Bayor, with all due respect, take no offense. But seriously
speaking, what happened to our summer hut promise? I just hope it was not as
widely speculated, a face saving tactic?
STILL BORN PROMISE NUMBER THREE: what went wrong with
the promise of bringing back our version of the bush canteen? The only
alternative to the below standard yet exorbitant and monopoly run cafeteria. A place
where with my money in hand, I still have to battle it out with the arrogant vendor
of a sort, Comfort. The only food joint I have ever saw buyers rather running after
sellers.
On a similar note, some of you really deserve to be
mentioned. The top hierarchy of KETEKE. Certainly, you were remarkably in my opinion
the best Club for the semester. Your anniversary celebration and the programs
you brought on board was beyond perfection. Osagyefo Hall rightly led by the Royal
Ajaforism was splendid but did Ajafor much the prowess of Hon Steve Kubate?
To our women’s commissioner who I never made the
time to know, you did your best. Yeah! The Miss Communicator Pagentary would
have been awesome but for The stolen verdict.
These are the few I can remember. But I know that
even in our various class levels, we did hear a lot that never was. What did you
hear that never saw the light of day. Just for the purpose of accountability,
do not hesitate to share. GIJ surely deserves better but until we cease to
remain inert by making them, our leaders accountable, our hopes of seeing a
better GIJ would forever remain a still born hope. STAY BLESS.
