This, according to her was a necessary recognition of a life of permanent creative resistance as exemplified in the life and times of Chandraprahba Saikiani.
“It is women like Chandraprabha who have shaped this country and its freedom, and it’s so important to not forget them…”
“…her whole life was a permanent creative résistance against domination that was violent, and she never gave up.”
“I would call on the university to not allow, the Department that has been set-up, to continue her memory to be folded up. It must continue as a vital part of this university.” She concluded.
The call was made at a gathering of a teeming university community in a memorial lecture, which formed part of activities marking the memorial of Chandraprabha Saikiani, organised by the university on Tuesday, March 19, 2019.

She entreated women to emulate the glowing examples of Chandraprabha, who never was deterred by closed doors, citing current times as defining the final stages of a contest between all patriarchies societies have ever witnessed.
