If politicians
feverishly are planning for the future… the electorates in whose hands lies the
decision of who leads them ought to be prepared by now. Sometimes, I become
very overwhelm with thoughts of who really among the two front liners (NPP
& NDC) deserve the chance of leading this nation in 2016.
If you think am
in anyway hallucinating by discussing 2016; a period two and a half years from
now, then far are you from right.
The NPP is
leaving no stone unturned. They have already set the ball rolling by booting
out their ever vociferous General Secretary and Party Chairman out of the
scene. Probably, for being the cause of their downfall in elections 2012, as
sections within their own camp claim.
The NDC will
follow suit very soon! Or have they not already? My clue…! The President
recently was on a “Thank You” tour of the Ashanti Region. He never minced words
with his desire of a one million vote from that end of the country in 2016.
I am not the
least worried about the signs of desperation in exhibit by the two leading
parties. But my worry is whether “WE” the Electorates are also preparing for
these desperados come 2016. It’s a prove beyond all reasonable doubts that,
they BOTH have nothing good under their sleeves to change the dwindling
fortunes of our mother land.
Otherwise, they
would both, whether in power or opposition should have been engaging in
constructive discussions to help move our nation forward. Instead of becoming
the experts they are at the usual blame game.
Unfortunately,
their accomplices in the media have helped them pushed such calculated desires
effortless. If the media have not helped now, or even times in the past, how
can a certain factual or doctored tape of our President be on air for some time
now without the true tape surfacing? Were there no media men at the event where
the said tape was recorded??? What’s their interest in keeping secret what
might help the Ghanaian populace put this issue to rest?
The media
platform has become a hub for a GANG of persons in the name of Communications
team members, to hurl accusations, falsehood and counter claims at each other.
The two Parties
in my candid opinion have lost it. Interestingly, they have succeeded to an
extent in blindfolding the nation that they are from different camps and with
different ideologies. This I doubt. A person who is your friend behind the
scene cannot be an enemy in the open…unless; they want to tell us no such
friendship exists as they have always told us…They are not just friends but of
a feather…hence the same in competencies pervades either of them.
But can the
solution be an alternative party, apart from the NDC or NPP. In times past, I
thought I saw that glimmer of hope in a certain PPP…but frankly, I no longer
think same. The PPP to me, if not all within their inner circle, are like a
typical kwahu man who is a diehard fan of OKWAHU UNITED, but equally supports
Accra Hearts of Oak. When the two sides happen to get the chance to lock horns,
he would instead support Hearts to the downfall of OKWAHU UNITED. Don’t ask me
what I meant by this!
Every day, I
wake up to the conviction that, there would come a time for a certain
generation of leaders to rescue this nation from the downslope. This too,
appears to be a mirage. When I transverse our University campuses each day… the
probable future politicians in whose hands the future politics of our nation lies
are of no difference. They only not do politics the old generation way; but are
equally maliciously tactical. Preparing themselves to continue in their steads
of nation looting. No wonder they (NDC & NPP) call it a breeding ground.
As Elections
2012 was eventually decided in the law court, so might be SRC election of G.I.J.
In UCC, there is an injunction on the whole voting process; because a certain
disgruntled disqualified candidate would stop at nothing to get the right thing
done. KNUST am reliably informed is going for a re-run to correct an initial
election, which allegedly was marred with irregularities.
I am not against
the seeking of redress by anyone that deems it appropriate. But the issue is,
where there is no wrong, there is no need seeking for a right. The question
that remains unanswered is to what extent has the successor generation become
ingrained with the “misdeeds of the older generation”. Does that not put the
future of our nation in limbo? Only time would tell.
TO BE
CONTINUED!!!
"A person who is your friend behind the scene cannot be an enemy in the open" ,I totally agree with that assertion bro .Their fundamental agenda is to play the electorates before ,during ,and after every general election .The near future isn't promising but all hope shouldn't be lost. God Bless Ghana .
