IMPACT GENERATION HOLDS ORIENTATION

Introduction:

Yesterday, 11^th of October, 2014; orientation activities have been held to kick start Impact Generation’s year-long Youth Volunteering program.  The near five hours program took place at the Sociology Department of the University of Ghana, Legon.

 Program:

 Dubbed Impact Life Changers project, the program seeks to recruit Ghanaian youths youth from all walks of life, groom them through a series of training, mentorship programs, counselling and other Youth developmental activities as may be necessitated.

Impact Generation would also assume responsibility of, attaching Youths signed on to the program to partner organisations to undertake various volunteer duties in either, project, events; internship or international volunteering.

                                                                                               

                                                                                 Focus:

 The project will target youths from both the formal and informal sector. It aims at not only developing the participants for future engagements, but also; raising Ghanaian minds for the numerous socio-economic challenges faced by the nation.

A component of the program would also focus on introducing participants to various youth development geared opportunities around the world.  

 Past Partnership and supports:

Starting operations in the year 2009; the organisation have through the partnership and support of other organisations like, Moremi Initiative for Women’s Development in Africa, UNAIDS, UNESCO, Ministry of Education, Unique Life Assurance, Life well Investment, TV Africa and Net 2 TV Station attained success in organising and undertaking programs in its area of focus.

Impact Generation:

Impact Generation is a youth-led nongovernmental organization which seeks to develop young people into change makers of their communities. It is registered as a Non- Governmental Organization under the following institutions: Registrar general’s Department of Ghana- G27, 777, National Youth Council and Social Welfare Department of Ghana – D.S.W/5349

The focus of the organization is Youth Reproductive Health and HIV/AIDS, Youth Mentoring and Coaching and Volunteering. Its vision is to become a centre of excellence for developing and empowering the young people to make positive impacts in their communities.

The objectives of the organization are:

* To empower and develop the youth problems through education, training and capacity building activities

* To provide solutions to youth through the provision of Mentorship and counselling services.

* To educate youth and create awareness on Sexual and Reproductive Health and HIV/AIDS.

* To create opportunities for youth participation, leadership and involvement in community development.

* To carry out advocacy in our focus areas on youth.
